Andy Wilton has been a passionate low budget filmmaker since first picking up a video camera aged nineteen, and a natural storyteller since old enough to talk! Inspired by Robert Rodriguez’s incredible book “Rebel Without a Crew”, Andy made his first feature film “Behind the Scenes of TOTAL HELL” for just $1500.
While touring and giving talks on filmmaking, Andy discovered that people were confused about low-budget filmmaking. There are people making films for under $50, and studios making films for many millions of dollars; all legitimately referring to their projects as “low budget”. Andy teaches a form of filmmaking that concentrates on squeezing as much creativity and innovation as possible into a project, regardless of a filmmaker’s background, their budget or resources.
This is “Atomic Filmmaking”; taking something potentially very small, and getting incredible, explosive results from it. The budget doesn’t matter, the results are all that counts.
Andy has written an in depth-book all about Atomic Filmmaking called:
“Hollywood Hates This Book: The 7 Step Guide To Making Your Film For Free”.
The book takes the reader hand-by-hand through the entire filmmaking process; from turning an idea into a script, preparing a film, production, editing, mastering and distribution. All of which can be done on any budget, including the lack of one.
Atomic Filmmaking is a growing movement and is lived and breathed by the active community at the “Production Posse”;
an online community and resource for film education, innovation, motivation and inspiration.
“There is nothing you can’t do, if you want it enough and are prepared to make it happen”.
